Messaging customers in real time is a foundational capability of a modern marketers job. There are lots of ways this capability is described, so, in this lesson, we'll break down the various names, and dive into what the capability means, and why it matters.

  • CRM, Customer Messaging, Customer Lifecycle Management is the ability to send push notifications, emails, etc. in app, on web, or through emails.
  • An ESP is an Email Service Provider. ESPs Email sent from ESPs are usually sent by engineers for transactional purposes but for MarTech driven use cases, sending push notifications and ESP driven use cases are equally as important.
  • A core goal of a digital marketer’s main goal is to engage customers. Various online user interfaces (UI’s) make this process easier along with other data integrations.
