Conversion Value: What it is and How it Works

Conversion Value is a sub component of SKAdNetwork. We'll touch on what it is, how it works, and some various ways attribution providers are handling it for you in iOS 14.

  • When you hear “conversion value” it refers to a field in the SKAdNetwork mechanism that can be set by the developer.
  • It consists of 6 bits, meaning six numbers of 0 or 1.
  • Since each number has two options (0 or 1). There is a total combination size of 2^6 (64 combinations.
  • Intention is to give app developers a flexible system to grade, rank, rate or scale users in a non-individually trackable way.
