He started his career as the 4th employee of Branch Metrics, a well known Attribution & Deeplinking provider. After two years between sales engineering and product, Austin left to consult and built a small practice focused on technical marketing technology integrations - later known as HBE Ventures. In 2018, he sold this practice ($1.5M revenue; 60% profit margin) to mParticle - one of the highest performing tools in the Customer Data Platform space. Through this acquisition, Austin stood up a new consulting practice as a part of mParticle customers and non-customers alike in vetting, understanding, and implementing unified marketing technology systems. Austin operated a small team on $1.3M in services revenues with a roughly 40% profit margin and served on the mParticle leadership team for two years.
Through his technical marketing experiences, Austin has sourced, evaluated, negotiated, bought, deployed/implemented, and managed most marketing tools and their affiliated integrations and use cases. This list includes Branch, Appsflyer, Adjust, Button, Impact Radius, mParticle, Segment, Braze, Iterable, Leanplum, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Radar, Foursquare, Oracle, Adobe (Campaign, Target, Omniture), Sendgrid, Salesforce and SFMC (Salesforce Marketing Cloud), Twilio.

Besides his love of martech, Austin is described by his friends as a weird guy who loves learning. He mentors young adults in finance, is a CFP in training, is an authorized Virginia notary, an ordained & certified Virginian marriage minister, an FAA certified drone pilot, SCUBA Dive Master, water skiing fanatic, and dog dad to two goofy greyhounds.
