High Level CDPs vs DMPs

Are DMPs really dead? What is a DMP? How does this relate to a CDP? While these are complicated questions to answer, we'll break down what each tool is, how they work, and how they relate to one another.

  • CDP stands for Customer Data Platform. It's main purpose is to track 1st party customer data. A DMP stands for Data Management Platform.
  • DMPs allowed you to track or blocks particular users across different websites through the use of cookies to target users with ads.
  • They both provide the ability to track users and create audiences.
